    Yep, my lockdown effort, inspired by walking the deserted streets within my 5k allowed radius. I tried my hardest not to write a pandemic song but Self Replicator ambushed me (out from a bush on the Merri Creek Trail). In one of the rare weekends out of lockdown I raced into Head Gap Studio and got Finn Kean to capture my flailing efforts at playing and arranging myself on geetar, vox, fuzz bass, synth and drums and make it sound like something quite listenable if I do say so myself. Recorded in Preston and sent around the corner to Program Records in Preston (ahem...via dropbox....so that could be via some desert in Texas..or wherever the cloud is) nothing about this record has at the time of release, left the shire of Darebin. Why not be the first to help this limited to 200 little item finally do some real traveling!

A song that ambushed me last year! I was determined not to write a COVID song as they seemed to be proliferating like the virus itself. I didn’t want to use the position we all found ourselves in as a metaphor for how emotionally isolated people are…. or whatever. Then on one walk in Melbourne’s first lockdown it came out at me, from behind a bush on the Merri Creek path behind Ceres I think ( to give Melbournites a sense of connection heh heh).That was it! I’d succumbed to the outbreak of COVID songs. I thought if I could share my story people others would avoid that fate!
Anyway, after the 2nd or 3rd lockdown I flung some JobKeeper at Finn Kean at Headgap studios and he caught this (and the 'B' side) ...... on 'tape'
Not sure I’m cured…only time will tell.
