Gavin Hellyer Excellent cover from the legendary Australian, and even though he does it his own unique way, it just goes to show how great these Bacharach/David numbers are. Their beauty cannot be denied in any circumstances. And thank you Kim. As a young man I still remember the thrill of buying and playing Blood Red River by The Scientists on vinyl. Fantastic.

about

This 1998 tribute album features songs written by Hal David and Burt Bacharach. The idea, developed by Kurt Lathy, Christa Mitchell and Melissa Whebell, was to have a number of Australian performers cover various David/Bacharach tunes, among them Kim Salmon and the Surrealists.

Kim Salmon Melbourne, Australia

Kim Salmon is an Australian musician and songwriter.

Kim Salmon's most enduring legacy, and not one that he particularly tried for, will no doubt be that many blame him, or at least his band The Scientists, for 'grunge'.
